In 2021, we launched the project with the objective of training and encouraging young women in the sewing industry. The action is already in its fourth edition, through which 51 women have passed, 19 of whom were hired and are currently working in the Otacilio Costa unit.

The project lasts 90 days of training, and is aimed at the external public. In 2022, 13 people participated in this action, divided into two groups, which were followed/trained by a confection leader. After the training period, these women have the possibility to be hired as employees.

We start the first stage of the training with patchwork sewing, then we move on to some pieces that the cutting department makes available that contain some measurement or tonality problem, and in a third stage production pieces are already made.

The main benefit of the project is the opening of opportunities for the social and economic growth of both the participants and the municipality, contributing to the diversification of production, which currently has the wood and paper and cellulose sectors as its main industrial branches. It is through this project that many women are able to become professionals and contribute to the family income.
