Our Way of Caring

In 2013, Brandili was one of the pioneering companies in the region to hire Haitian immigrants. In the beginning, before learning the local language, the institutional materials were translated into French to facilitate communication and the inclusion of these immigrants. Many of them have created bonds with the community and the company, completing 6 years of work, and are highlighted in the programs Valeu.

Currently, the number of immigrants is smaller, as they move around according to job offers, but there are still Haitian families working at Brandili. The company has also hired Venezuelans, Paraguayans and Cubans.

Brandili is a benchmark in the area of inclusion and diversity: 29 people with disabilities have been hired with adapted jobs and their needs respected. In addition, the company also receives people who have been rehabilitated by the INSS for training.

To provide support in significant situations, Brandili has an area of Internal Social Responsibility. This area provides referrals for treatment, guidance and resources for psychiatric consultations, food baskets, support for the purchase of medication, etc.

O Mother Love Programme is geared towards employees who are pregnant, who receive a course for pregnant women, a booklet, a kit with baby clothes and hygiene products, and compete in a raffle for gifts. Brandili also grants a maternity leave of 180 days, during which the mother stays with the baby for an extra two months.

In partnership with the municipality's day care centre, the company offers day care assistance (or nanny) until the child is 36 months old. When returning from maternity leave, the employee can adapt, leaving the child for shorter periods and closely monitoring the care and feeding of the crèche professionals.

In the case of the need for payroll loans, Brandili has an agreement with a banking institution, as well as a pharmacy and supermarket agreement for purchases with payroll deductions. When buying children's products/clothing at the factory shop, employees have special discounts with installments and payroll deductions (Advantages for You Program).

The company has adopted the Hours' Compensation Programmein which the employee can be absent from the company in case of need and, afterwards, replace these hours. This way, there is no financial loss, loss of holidays and/or paid rest days.

At the Blumenau Administrative Centre (CAB), working hours are flexible, starting at 7am to 8.30am and leaving at 5pm to 6.30pm. The Managers (directors, managers, coordinators and supervisors) have a flexible schedule and the possibility of working in home office.

To improve the quality of life of its employees, Brandili has a structured Health Area with: Occupational Doctor, General Practitioner, Outpatient Administrative Assistant, Dentist (Sindtêxtil partnership), Speech Therapy and internal collection Laboratories.

Every year, the company carries out preventive and awareness campaigns:

Women's Day: Brandili values women warriors and their stories of victories that inspire and motivate to be better. In partnership with the Women's Network Against Cancer (RFCC) of Apiúna, Blumenau and Otacílio Costa, the company offers informative materials and exams carried out at the company's own outpatient clinic.

Flu vaccination: The employee receives the vaccine free of charge upon their booking.

Pink October: This is the time to wake up to the care of the female body and the fight against breast cancer. Some actions carried out by the company include: the use of headscarves and also sending letters of support to women with cancer.

Blue November: PSA exams are funded for all employees over the age of 45. The campaigns to fight prostate cancer aim to make employees aware of the importance of health care. For this, they also count on the support of the health team.

Mother Love ProgrammeThe course for pregnant women is a special moment for everyone involved. During the conversation circle, there is a photo session, coffee break and reports from Milk Bank volunteers, doulas and other mothers who share their stories and experiences. To demonstrate its true Love for Children, Brandili offers extended maternity and paternity leave of six months and twenty days respectively.

Mammography ScreeningIn partnership with Unimed.

Tooth Fairy Day: During the school holidays, Brandili's dentist receives employees' children for a different day. The children learn about brushing, healthy habits and healthy eating. Parents are invited to bring their children during after-school hours.

Time to Study ProgrammeBrandili offers a school within the company's premises and subsidises meals, transport and teaching materials for employees enrolled. Family members can also participate in the programme.

Chartered transportThe company offers this additional benefit to all employees. At the Blumenau Administrative Centre (CAB), there is a charter bus during lunch hours to the shopping centre and nearby restaurants. Food vouchers are also available for these employees.

In the Apiuna and Otacilio Costa units' cafeteria, the Worker's Food Program (PAT) subsidizes food and charges only symbolic amounts (R$1.91 per meal). The cafeteria is outsourced and has a nutritionist to prepare balanced meals.

In addition to the conventional buffet, the cafeteria offers a light option, with pasta, snacks, juices and desserts. As the working hours at the factories start at 7am, there is also the option of breakfast. All the employee has to do is make a reservation for the differentiated options.

Company time: Every month, Brandili offers its thanks and celebration to employees who complete 1, 5, 10, 15 and other years in the company (multiples of 5). They receive a thank you card signed by their colleagues, a pin (botton) of the respective commemoration year to pin on their badge and the publication of their name on the company's internal notice boards and in the exclusive group for employees on Facebook, the Nossa Gente Brandili group.

Managers receive a script with guidelines and tips on how to give thanks and the celebration should be held in the area. Managers and co-workers register the delivery of the card and tribute with photos in the Facebook group and colleagues from other areas take the opportunity to also pay their tribute.

Employees who complete 10, 15, 20 years or more still receive a special thank you. Before the pandemic, this acknowledgement took place in the format of a biannual face-to-face event that brought together honoured employees, managers and directors.

In 2020, the event became a monthly action that unites employees and their families, where they can celebrate together. The company delivers, directly to the employee's home, kits that vary according to the length of service. A letter of thanks is also sent, signed by the Managing Director of the company, and is posted in the group Our People Brandili
